Commissioned Custom Quilts are Individually Priced
Commissioned quilts are beautiful, original works of art that will be treasured for generations. Many people will treasure a heirloom quilt far longer than jewelry and other expensive items. The pricing of commissioned quilts reflects the quality of materials used, high-tech equipment used, and the time involved in the artistic creation and and skilled manufacture of your quilt.
We are unable to accomodate requests to make any quilt greater than 100 inches wide.
If we are quilting your top, please be sure it is well-sewn and has no pulled apart seams. Please baste your edges all around the quilt within the quilt seam allowance. There will be an additional charge of $20/hour if repairs need to be made to your top to prepare it for quilting.
Backing may be pieced, if desired, and must be at least 8 inches wider and longer than the quilt top.
We use Warm and White cotton batting and Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting. Both battings are low-loft and will produce a soft, light, warm quilt. We request that you use our batting as we know that it works well in our machines, and is of fine quality and wrinkle free.
Before beginning any project, we will communicate with you in person, by phone, or email to discuss quilting options and provide you with a written estimate. A 40% deposit is required before beginning any project with the balance due upon completion. No quilt will be returned without payment in full. Cash, checks, and PayPal accepted. Checks must clear before the quilt is returned. Quilts are shipped back to the owner via USPS Priority Mail for a flat $12 shipping fee or can be picked up at our studio in Post Falls, Idaho, if convenient.
Any quilt not paid for and picked up within 60 days of notification of completion will become the property of Monarch Quilting and Design.
